How can one 12-hour night shift be so deadly?
I loved the anonymity, flexibility and solitude that working the night shift at Storage Queen gave me.
The unsociable hours paid well, helping me fund my university degree and giving me a quiet place to study while the world slept peacefully in their warm, cozy beds. It was the perfect job for me.
But that Friday night proved to be more than I bargained for when a man walked through the door, dragging a large suitcase.
My immediate instincts told me something was wrong.
That’s when my ordeal began.
I just had to make it through the night shift.
A pacy, heart stopping, page turning thriller for the fans of Shari Lapena and Lisa Jewell.

Woah what a suspenseful book! I need a minute to recover!!
The entire plot takes place overnight during a 12-hour shift at a storage unit. Things get creepy real fast, and it’s only downhill from there! The main character, Nina, was amazing – loved her! She had literally every obstacle possible thrown at her, and where others may have given up and accepted their fate, she kept fighting. She fought for herself, she fought for others, she fought for justice and survival… and I held my breath the entire time!
The detailed descriptions of the scene put me right inside the storage building as if I was really there, walking the halls myself, hiding from danger. I could see it so clearly, I could smell the smells, I could hear the sounds, I could picture it all so vividly in my head that it was as though I was watching a movie as the pages turned. I absolutely LOVE when an author can take you completely out of your world and submerge you into theirs. Seriously, I actually had to remind myself to put the book down once in a while and care for my children!
If you like books that will scoop you up and hurl you into a whirlwind of suspense, fear, hope, desperation, and anxiety, then this 5-star book is definitely the right one for you! I can’t wait to read more from Gemma Rogers!
