Magical realism is my favorite genre to read and Alex Gordon has certainly created quite a magical world for us to dive into! I have been listening to this as an audiobook and I’m absolutely loving it. I’m almost done and can’t wait to share a full review with you next week!

So far, I am enthralled with the mysterious powers of mind control our main character, Regan has and the repercussions using them and not using them seem to have on her health! This poor high-school student has seen more loss and trauma than should be allowed and this story is about how all of that happened, how she is handling it, and how she might be able to learn and grow from it – all while navigating daily bullying, gossip, and school studies.

While this is technically a YA book, there is definitely mature content inside so be aware of that before recommending to a younger one.
