Oooo this was a good one, guys! Characters that were relatable and loveable, a storyline that plunked them into a dangerous suspenseful mystery, and detailed writing that made the scenes come to life around you. It was not my first Susan Furlong novel and certainly not my last!!

Emma follows a mysterious clue left for her by her police officer brother – who just so happened to be recently murdered – and finds herself on the run from a mysterious man who seems to think she knows more about this than she actually does. Obviously, this tempts her to find out exactly what it is she doesn’t know and why someone or possibly more than one someone is out to get whatever it is they think she’s hiding.

In typical Susan Furlong fashion, Emma runs (quite catastrophically) into local ER doctor Logan Greer – whom we immediately fall in love with – and now has to figure out if she can trust him to keep her safe while she investigates what on earth could possibly be going on.

The mystery is full of twists and layers that are so much fun to uncover. The characters both beloved and detested are so realistic that I felt like I knew them personally. Overall, it’s an awesome book, I highly recommend it!
